Golden Valley Fire Department Relief Association > Community Involvement > Annual Events
The Golden Valley Fire Relief Association holds various special events throughout the year to deepen its relationship with the community and to help the Golden Valley Fire Department in educating the public in fire prevention and safety activities.
Some of the education happenings include supporting the efforts of the GVFD including helping to buy safety equipment for various classes at local schools, community groups and the general education fund. The organization also provides promotional materials including plastic helmets and fire t-shirts for the GVFD annual Open House to promote the fire service and encourage having a safe community.
Along with the Relief Association Street Dance held in June each year, the organization is also involved in several events that give back to local charities and initiatives that allows us to reinvest in the community. The GVFRA staffs a weekend of bellringing for the Salvation Army at the Golden Valley Byerlys. As part of the GV Fire Family, the group enjoys distributing gifts during the holiday season for the Be a Santa to a Senior program. These are just a few ways we’re able to give back to the community.
